Harringay Green Lanes
Traders Association welcomes you to Harringay through this
on-line Directory. That's Harringay
(N4), and not Haringey
(the Borough). This has for many years, caused much confusion.
Compound this with the A105 Green Lanes, a major London trunk
road which starts from Stoke Newington (N16), through Harringay
(N4, N8), Turnpike Lanes (N15), Wood Green 'High Road' (N22),
Palmers Green (N13) to Winchmore Hill (N21), and you can appreciate
how difficult it has been for shops and businesses to identify
themselves to potential customers.
The role of HTA is to play an active role in promoting the
area, cleaning up the image, increase safety in the community
and most importantly representing the needs of the local businesses.
We would like to think we have played our role over the course
of last 25 years, improving Green Lanes making it Greener,
Cleaner and Friendlier.
HTA has been involved with many interventions and actions
over the years for the benefit of the community. One of these
initiatives has been the highly successful Harringay
Green Lanes Food Festival which saw thousands of locals
came to enjoy the hospitality of Green Lanes! This was only
made possible by working in partnership with Haringey Council,
local Councillors, Metropolitan Police and Residents groups
and the support of all our members.
The Traders Association was successful in the Outer
London Fund - launched by the Mayor of London, to regenerate
the high street life and to make it a better experience for
all who work, live and visit the heart of any community -
their local high street.
If you are a new business within the Green Lanes area, and
if you haven't done so already, join us and get your business
promoted on this site. Tell us WHAT you do and HOW you do
it.
This website is managed by the Harringay Traders Assoc, supported
by Haringey Council Business Enterprise team. We are a voluntary
group, and when we are not engaged in the community, we work
and manage our own businesses right here on Green Lanes.
If you are a visitor to our Locale, we hope you enjoy the
friendly atmosphere, the unique specialist stores and the
delicious cuisine of many restaurants.
